PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


PELLETIER CONSULTING, PRINCIPAL/CONSULTANT, 2000-present: Consultation in nonprofit management, strategic planning, program and fund development, budgeting, staff and board development, community planning and program design for federal, state and local nonprofit organizations.  Develop and facilitate staff development and board retreats, conferences and workshops.  Design and deliver professional development training sessions for education and non-profit professionals.  Manage research and development projects.  Highly successful grant proposal writer for many non-profit organizations, resulting in tens of millions of dollars in funding. 


PROJECT MANAGER, Merrimack Valley Workforce Investment Board, Lawrence, MA, Jan. 2003 to Sept. 2004:    Contracted, 12-month position managing BEST Older Youth “Jobs in Finance” Program, which prepared low-income older youth for jobs in the finance industry.  Extensive community partnering work with private and public sector, education institutions, training providers and funding sources.


DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT, Community Action, Inc (CAI), Haverhill, MA, May 1998 to June 2003.  Developed and implemented multi-year strategic plans; annual fund campaign, special events, community planning partnerships, research and grant writing for multi-million dollar Community Action Agency.  Extensive Board interaction and facilitation of Development Advisory Board.


EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, CAI, May 1996 to May 1998.  Overall management of Education, Training and Workforce Development Programs for CAI serving economically disadvantaged residents including directorship of the Greater Haverhill Adult Learning Center (DOE-funded Adult Basic Education Program), skills training programs, community planning, program development, grant writing, fiscal management, contract negotiations, public relations, planning and supervision of 15-30 professional staff members.


PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, Youth Volunteer Corps, Lawrence, MA, 9/93 to 5/96.   Created and oversaw intergenerational community service program including program development, grant writing, contracting, budgeting, recruitment, training, staffing, program and fiscal planning, monitoring for valley-wide, chamber-sponsored community service program.


EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Coastal Employment Associates, P.O. Box 1427, Portsmouth, NH  8/92 to 8/93:  Managed all aspects of non-profit corporation which provides vocational services for people with disabilities.  Oversaw staff of 15 with annual budget of $500,000, serving 40 to 50 clients annually.  Extensive board interaction, marketing and fund raising responsibilities.
